Science shows, that are exciting & interactive, are presented by temp staff to mainly children - to entertain & learn simultaneously.
Around 20 themes for school shows / lesson learning experiments & an extramural program, can be mixed into various formats. They were developed by the Science qualified owner & are recorded in written & video format. New content can be accessed through research on the internet.
Regular extramural activities presented at schools as Science Clubs are the base, while parties, functions & teambuilding, provide further income streams.
It is easy to manage & operate.
How long has the business been established?
Started 10 years ago by the Seller, with steady growth over the years. However, the owners' departure from SA, has let turnover from ad hoc income streams slip in the past year, which can easily be re-activated; while expanding it nationally or deliver content remotely.
How does the business operate on a daily basis?
Pre-booked shows / lessons for schools / parties / teambuilding, are carried out by the staff, with the equipment & materials they collected from the storage unit.
Inward calls, emails & website enquiries are dealt with, quoted on, booked & then presented by the staff.
Schools are attracted & contracted through direct approaches, although some do approach the business through itâs attractive website, as do other new clients. Existing schools number some 15 while a total of 30 schools have utilized & could in the future utilize their services, not counting numerous unapproached schools. A database of some 500 other clients are on record.
How are the clients attracted to the business?
Continual interaction with existing & past schools, approaches to new schools, Facebook page & instagram page
Is the business VAT Registered?
It is not VAT Registered.
This Report utilizes AFS 2025 figures as the last AFS presently available, with all monthly figures being averages of the annual figures.
However, the 2025 highest turnover achieved of R511k was reduced to the previous years R391k (2024) for this report (& close to likely 2026 outcome), in case the purchaser has a slower first year before targeting existing & new clients as an owner operator & more in-line with the present likely turnover (2026) without the Seller being in SA.
After all expenses the NP is shown at R184k pa, but against a 2025 turnover of R511, it would have been closer to R260k (as 2025 expenses were used in this report against a lower 2024 turnover).
The Purchaser should conduct or accompany some of the shows, to understand the shows & save assistant costs.
That the Seller has of late & presently is overseas, will not affect the handover, as the staff , equipment & materials are in Durban, while the handover & training can occur remotely. The staff have been interacting with clients to date, which will also facilitate the handover.
The purchase could be as a going concern out of the PTY or as a share purchase; both with the transfer of the Trading as Name.
Seller just wishes to keep CT as an option to run a similar business (under a different name) as her family now live there & she may one day return there,
What is the total staff complement?
Presently 2 temp staff conduct all the shows, while an assistant is also available.
They are paid per show & when out buying materials or meeting clients, as well as fuel costs.
How involved is the Owner in running the business?
The owner used to help with shows but has not in 2025 & 2026 due to being out of the country for a large part thereof.
The Purchaser should focus on existing & new schools & the existing database of some 500 past clients; as well as, finances, social media & show content to grow the business.

What are the main assets of the business?
The equipment is sufficient & in good condition, at a 2nd hand sale value of some R 10k, while materials are purchased for each show, with small left-over quantities on hand.
The intellectual property will be transferred to the purchaser by external hard drive - shows & client database.
What is the reason for the sale?
The Seller is spending less time in SA, which doesn't help the business grow.
